Gabriel García Márquez was born in Aracataca, the town which the Colombian writer recreates in his most famous novel “One Hundred Years of Solitude”.
This pictures and the story is my personal recreation of the book through people and spaces.

The sun determines the dynamics of all that happens here. The dampness is asphyxiating. Everything smells and moves by the heat. Always sticky, always burning. The sound of the train every half hour is relaxing. It moves the soil sufficiently to give the strength to run and see it coming. Kilometers of metal framework go on a different speed from that of the village.
